To all NDLA families.....
Hello Lacrosse Families,
I hope you are doing well during this unprecedented time. I know you are all waiting patiently to know what is happening regarding box lacrosse this season. NDLA is also waiting for news. As many of you know we are part of the Vancouver Island Lacrosse League and the BC Lacrosse Association. All information and direction for our association comes from these 2 bodies who also must follow the Canadian Lacrosse Associations policies.
What I can tell you at this time is that all in-person lacrosse activities in BC are postponed until at least May 1. The City facilities are also closed through at least April 30. As such, we are unable to get together, have any practices or more season planning until at least the end of April. BCLA is exploring a variety of possibilities for lacrosse this spring/summer while following the health authorities’ policies and recommendations. Currently, there is still a possibility of a shortened season.
NDLA is currently looking at maximizing refund amounts for all if there is not a season. Certain costs, unfortunately, cannot be recouped such as insurance, facility rentals, and equipment. We are hoping you can bear with us while we find out about the outcome of a box season this year and if you can we would appreciate it. However, we understand that this is a critical time for everyone, and we can refund your registration and withdraw your player from registration minus the $50 BCLA fee and $25 administration fee if requested. Once we have more information about the season and costs, we will refund more if possible. If this is something you would like NDLA to do, please email our registrar and copy myself and our treasurer. (email address’ below) Please ensure we receive your child’s name as well as their division and your name in the email.
All information we receive will be posted in the NDLA Facebook group, and on the Nanaimo Lacrosse website as we receive it. I will also send an email to everyone once a week (on the weekends sometime) with any updates we have.
Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.
If anyone has any questions, do not hesitate to email me. I will get back to you with the best answers I can as soon as possible.
Keep well, stay safe and go play pass with your family.
