News and Announcements

Thank you to everyone for physical distancing and staying home as much as possible.

We are all in this together.

As you know lacrosse is suspended until April
at this time. We are patiently awaiting information from the BCLA and CLA regarding the upcoming season. As soon as we have more information we will pass it along to you.

A special thank you to all of the lacrosse people that are essential workers who are making sure we are taken care of while social distancing.

Stay safe, stay healthy and please follow the advice of the health authorities to keep everyone safe so we can get through this together but at a distance.

BC Lacrosse Association memo March 16, 2020

Given the mandate of the Province of BC’s further ban on gatherings of groups of more than 50 people, the BC Lacrosse Association Board is issuing a directive that all lacrosse activities are suspended until further notice. We will continue to provide updates as they become available.

The City of Nanaimo also closed ALL recreation facilities including fields and the outdoor lacrosse boxes. All contracts are canceled during this time. The NDLA does not have any floor time at the outdoor covered box nor are able to book floor time for anyone. At this time no NDLA teams are to be practicing as their insurance may not be valid.

The full bulletin from BCLA including information about the cancellation of coaching and officials clinics is on their website under the quick links on the main page.

Thank you

That's a wrap!

And that’s a wrap for evaluations.

Our evaluators feel confident that they had a solid look at all the tykes and we do NOT need the Friday session. Tykes will hear from someone in the coming week regarding the team they are on!

Huge shout out of thanks to all our volunteers who put their time and efforts in the past three weeks. The evaluators saw all athletes from Tyke to Midget and gave up hours to help the association make balanced teams and assess each athlete’s skill level – amazing work and we are grateful!

Huge shout out to NDLA’s head coach who was at the box every single evening…our registrar who has been compiling lists and processing registrations…our presidents who have overseen things the past three weeks!!!

Onwards to the season and happy spring break to you all!

Huge news lacrosse families…..all divisions in NDLA from mini tyke to Junior Girls are FULL TO CAPACITY!!

We have a record breaking 473 registered athletes and are overwhelmed preparing for the upcoming season!!! Seventy five tykes…say what?!? We are 100% “growing the game”!

We currently have players on waitlists and would like to make sure that anyone on those lists, or who register after this post, are aware that they are not assured a spot on a team!

We apologize but we have literally maxed out available floors and have full sized teams!
Registration ALWAYS opens in mid December (as per BCLA’s timeline) and early registration is imperative!

If your athlete is on a waitlist and you have questions please email

Thank you,
